About the DS3800DPSS
The GE Turbine Control Board DS3800DPSS features 6 fuses and 1 34-pin connector. The GE Turbine Control Board DS3800DPSS also is populated with 7 terminals with retention screws, multiple capacitors, and 1 jumper.
The fuses on the board are designed to protect the multiple circuits from being damaged if an over voltage condition arises on the board. If too much current is allowed to be present in the board, the components might be damaged or the current might enter other boards or components in the drive. The fuses are rated with an amperage over which the fuses blow. This means the current melts the element inside the fuse and it stops the current from entering the circuit. The circuits stops processing. The rating means that current below the rating will allow the circuit to remain functional. So, to keep the circuit functional and protect the board from harmful amperage, only replace the fuses with identical fuses with the same rating. The fuses have IDs assigned to them that are printed on the surface of the board. FU1, FU2, FU3, FU4, FU5, and FU6 are the IDs you will find on the board. You will find the IDs printed on the board.
It is best practice to keep on hand a supply of replacement fuses so that downtime for the drive is limited. To replace a fuse, use one hand to remove 1 end of the fuse from the connector on the board. Then remove the other end of the fuse from the connector.
