Product Description

The GE Circuit Board DS3800DSWA is 3 inches in height and 5 inches in length.  The board features 12 trimmer resistors, multiple capacitors, and 12 jumpers. The GE Circuit Board DS3800DSWA also is populated with 1 34-pin connector.

The IDs of the jumpers are prefixed with a 1 position numeric value. Following the numeric value is a 1 or 2 position alphabetic value.  For example, some of the jumper IDs are 1C, 1S, 1RA, 2RA, 3RA, and 3B. You can use the IDs to reference the installation instructions that came with the board to gain knowledge about the purpose and function of each jumper. You can learn which jumper position is appropriate for the drive. If you find that you must move a jumper, use your thumb and 1 finger to lift up on the jumper and remove it from the pins. Center the jumper over the pins you want to cover and gently insert it over the pins. Do not use force because you might bend the pins or break them off the board.

The 34-pin ribbon cable is approximately 7-inches in length. One end is attached to the board while to other end is a 34-pin connector. It attaches to a connector near the location where the board is installed. There are some considerations to keep in mind to prevent damage to the ribbon cable. When you disconnect the ribbon cable, use one hand to hold the connector and gently remove it from the connector in the drive interior. Never tug the cable free from the drive connector because it can damage the cable.
