About the DS3800HAFA1B1C
The GE Regulator Board DS3800HAFA1B1C features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Regulator Board DS3800HAFA1B1C also is populated with 11 jumpers, and 4 trimmer resistor components. The board also has 1 20-pin connector and 1 34-pin connector.
The jumpers are assigned identifiers that are prefixed with 1 letter. Following the prefix is a numeric value. The prefix for all jumpers is the letter J and the numeric value is unique for all jumpers. For example, some of the jumper IDs are J1, J2, and J3. The jumper IDs are viewable on the surface of the board.
Because the board is populated with multiple components and can have many cables connected to it, it is important that it have cool air available to freely flow over it. This cool air carries away the heat that can build up on the board. When the installer plans for installation of the board, it must be kept in mind that air flow must be available on all sides of the drive. That is, the top, bottom, and both sides must have space for air to freely flow around the drive. To cool the interior of the drive, cool air must be available to enter the bottom of the drive and exit the top of the drive through the air vents.
However, the ribbon cables can block the flow of air if not routed properly. Don’t route the cables in front of the air vents or around the components on the board.
