About the DS3800HAIA
The GE Analog Conversion Board DS3800HAIA is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Analog Conversion Board DS3800HAIA also is populated with 2 34-pin connectors between the retention levers. The board is populated with 2 trimmer resistors and 8 jumpers. The board is also populated with 1 socket for an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) module.
The analog/digital converter is a component embedded on the board. It converts the analog signals to a digital format. The digital format is used for signal processing throughout the drive. The board is also populated with multiple test points. Each test point has an ID. Some of the IDs are CLK, ES, DV, DB, AN, FOG, and ACON. The test points are useful to a servicer to test the multiple circuits on the board. The servicer must be knowledgeable about the purpose of the board and the components that populate the board. The servicer must understand the danger in removing and installing a board in a high-voltage drive. The testing device must be in good working condition and be fully calibrated for the testing environment.
Perform the testing on a clean and dry surface that is free of debris, dust, and clutter. This is to protect the surface of the board from contamination.
The trimmer resistors are situated on the board so that they can be adjusted while the board is operating. Using a screwdriver, the installer can adjust the resistance supplied by the component.
