About the DS3800HAIC
The GE Regulator Board DS3800HAIC features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Regulator Board DS3800HAIC also is populated with 9 jumpers, and 2 trimmer resistor components. The board also has 1 20-pin connector and several test points.
The GE Regulator Board DS3800HAIC is designed for use in a drive with a board rack. The drive has modular connectors at the back of the rack and the board has a matching modular connector that connects to the drive. The modular connectors provide the electrical current to power the board. The modular connectors also enable the board to send and receive signals. Some of the signals are commands that are sent to other components for processing. Some signals are received by the board for processing.
The analog/digital converter is a component embedded on the board. It converts the analog signals to a digital format. The digital format is used for signal processing throughout the drive.
The original board that you purchase comes in a cardbox box for protection against damage that can occur during shipping. Before you open the box look over the outside of the box for signs of damage. Look for signs that liquids splashed or dripped on the box or that the box sat in liquid. Look for holes and dents in the box. Open the box and remove the packaging material. Put it aside and keep it for reuse. You might have to ship the board to another location, ship it to a repair facility, or ship it to customer service.
