About the DS3800HAIC1A1A
The GE Regulator Board DS3800HAIC1A1A features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Regulator Board DS3800HAIC1A1A also is populated with 9 jumpers, and 2 trimmer resistor components. The board also has 1 20-pin connector and several test points.
The board is designed to be easily installed and removed from the drive. The board has a modular connector at the rear that meets a matching modular connector at the rear of the board rack. The installer slides the board into the rack and presses the board until the modular connectors meet. Then, the installer presses the retention levers down until the levers lock in place. At that point, the modular connectors are fully seated and the board is installed. However, there are some considerations to keep in mind. When you insert the board in the rack, hold the board by the edges only. This prevents damage caused to the components by pressing down on them with your fingers. Also, do not let the board scrap against the metal board rack. Have a good view of the rack and carefully slide in the board without knocking the components against the rack.
Once the board is installed, you can connect the 20-pin connectors. The 20-pin connectors attach to ribbon cables that transmit and receive signals from other boards in the drive. If you have the need to remove the board, first disconnect the 20-pin ribbon cables. Grip the connector at the end of the ribbon cable that attaches to the board.
