About the DS3800HBPD
The DS3800HBPD is a board component within the Mark IV Speedtronic system from General Electric. This is only one version of the Speedtronic control system available from GE, but it was the first to offer triple modular redundant control for industrial gas and steam turbines. Other systems in this series include the MKI, MKII, MKV, MKVI, and MKVIe. Each version of the Speedtronic control system offers different control options and capabilities. AX Control maintains replacement parts for all of these systems. If you don’t see the part you’re looking for in our inventory, please reach out to our staff.
The DS3800HBPD functions as a Siltron card within the Mark IV system. This board is designed to interface with the larger system and other boards through a backplane connector and vertical/right-angled connectors that connect to plug-in cabling. This upgrade from screw-connected wiring for interfacing means Mark IV components can be removed and replaced more quickly than previous generations of Speedtronic boards.
The Mark IV system is designed with a communicator <C> that communicates with distributed sensors among three control sections, designated as <R> <S> and <T>. These control sections are identical and independent of each other. This allows parts within any of these control sections to be swapped out without the need to completely disable the system.
For additional information about this particular board or about the Mark IV system in general, please refer to original documentation like user guides, manuals, or data sheets from General Electric. These should have arrived with your original OEM purchase.
