About the DS3800HCIC
The GE Mark IV Board DS3800HCIC is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Mark IV Board DS3800HCIC also is populated with 1 40-pin connector located between the retention levers and 1 34-pin connector on the surface of the board. The board is populated with 1 amber indicator LED and standoffs. The board is also populated with 1 socket for an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) module and 7 jumpers.
The 34-pin connector on the surface of the GE Mark IV Board DS3800HCIC connects to a daughter card. The daughter card provides additional processing and functionality to the board. The daughter card is an optional device that is compatible with the board. It is designed with 1 hole in each corner. It aligns with the standoffs on the board. The standoffs secure the daughter card on the board and keep it off the surface of the GE Mark IV Board DS3800HCIC. To install the daughter card, place it over the standoffs and insert a screws in each corner. Use a screwdriver to secure the daughter card. However, do not overtighten the screws. Overtightening might cause the daughter card to crack or drive the screws through the daughter card.
The daughter card is equipped with a 34-pin ribbon cable. The purpose of the ribbon cable is to connect the daughter card to the GE Mark IV Board DS3800HCIC. Plug the ribbon cable into the 34-pin connector for the daughter card to receive current and control signals.
