About the DS3800HCIC1D1D
The GE Mark IV Board DS3800HCIC1D1D is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Mark IV Board DS3800HCIC1D1D also is populated with 1 40-pin connector located between the retention levers and 1 34-pin connector on the surface of the board. The board is populated with 1 amber indicator LED and standoffs. The board is also populated with 1 socket for an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) module and 7 jumpers.
The daughter card is not a standard feature of the GE Mark IV Board DS3800HCIC1D1D. It is an optional device that a technician can install on the board. If you replace the board, you must remove the daughter card from the defective board and install it on the replacement board. To remove the daughter card, first remove the board from the drive and place it on a static-free surface. This can be a static-free mat made of a special material or a flattened static-protective bag. With 1 hand hold the ribbon cable connector on the board surface and pull the cable out of the connector. Care must be taken that you do not tug the ribbon cable to remove it. This might damage the wires that carry the control signals and electrical current that powers the daughter card.
Next, use a screwdriver to remove the four screws from the standoffs. Save all four screws because you can use them to attach the daughter card to the replacement board with the same screws.
