The board also has 2 34-pin connectors, and multiple capacitors and resistors.
The board is designed for easy installation and removal from the drive. The drive has a modular connector at the rear of each board rack position. The board has a modular connector on the rear that fits into the modular connector at the rear of the rack. The modular connector provides all current the board requires to function. It also provides the connections to receive signals from other boards in the drive. The modular connection also enables the board to transmit command signals. Because of the modular connector no additional cables are introduced to the drive interior. This improves air flow and reduces the clutter in the drive.
On the front of the board are retention levers that hold the board in position. The retention levers ensure that the modular connectors stay connected and keep the board from moving in the board rack. This prevents damage to the components on the board.
To use the retention levers, slide the board into the board rack until it stops. Then, apply pressure with your thumbs to press the board into the modular connector. Press down on the levers to lock the board in the drive.
