About the DS3800HDDD1D1C
The DS3800HDDD1D1C is a motor control board, or a printed circuit board, manufactured by GE. The DS3800HDDD1D1C is designed to be used as a diagnostic display board in a Mark IV/Speedtronic system used for steam and gas turbine control.
The DS3800HDDD1D1C is comprised of two parts: the PCB and the connected operator panel. The PCB connects to the operator panel using four screws and spacers that allow the user a gap to access components placed at the edge of the PCB, including two thumbwheel potentiometers and a multipin connector. The LED components placed in the center of the PCB are accessed via cut-throughs on the panel and have been extensively labeled.
The front panel is broken into three sections by two lines. The left section includes one switch (marked 'reset,') and four LEDs (three amber, marked Drive ok/Datalink active/Ready to run, and one red marked Fault.) The middle section has three LED strips marked "Motor Faults," "Converter Faults" and "Alarms." The right section has three LED strips marked "Drive Status," "Reference Selection," and "Status." It is worth noting that while the LED strips have a total of 80 individual LEDs, these are numbered 1-40 with specific labels for every two LEDs.
The printed circuit board below the operator panel has several integrated circuits. It has over 50 ceramic covered metal film resistors, primarily clustered in two lines on each long edge of the PCB.
Please refer to the manuals and datasheets originally published by GE for installation guidelines. GE provided troubleshooting and technical support for this and other Mark IV components.
