About the DS3800HDRA
The GE Line Driver/Receiver Board DS3800HDRA features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Line Driver/Receiver Board DS3800HDRA also is populated with 2 jumpers, and multiple capacitors. The board also has 2 40-pin connectors accessible from the front of the board.
The 2 40-pin connectors are accessible by the operator when the board is installed in the drive. However, any cables attached to the connectors should only be touched if the drive has all power removed.
Removing power from the drive requires that someone familiar with the installation of the drive confirm that all power has been removed. The drive has multiple sources of current and only someone familiar with the installation will know the sources of power and how to disconnect them. Before you touch the board, use a full featured testing device to confirm that all power is removed.
Be familiar with the emergency power shut off devices associated with the drive. In case of an emergency, the shut offs can remove all power from the drive. It is important that 2 technicians are always present to service the drive. If 1 technician is experiencing an emergency, the other can call for help, shut off the power, or assist the other technician.
Before you start the installation, inspect the area around the drive for safe conditions. Make sure the floor is dry and free of oil and debris. If moisture is on the floor, clean up the water first. If moisture reoccurs, you might have to install dehumidifiers so the floor remains dry.
