The GE Fish II Expander Board DS3800HFXB1K1G is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with 1 40-pin connector and 1 34-pin connector between the retention levers. The board also has 1 20-pin connector embedded on the board. The GE Fish II Expander Board DS3800HFXB1K1G also is populated with 1 amber indicator LED. The board is also populated with 2 sockets for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules and 11 jumpers.
The GE Fish II Expander Board DS3800HFXB1K1G is designed to provide full functionality. However, depending on the drive and the processing requirements, it might be necessary to attach an optional daughter card. The daughter card attaches to the board and works along with the board to provide additional features and functions. The daughter card is designed to work only when attached to the board. That is, it cannot work as a standalone component in the drive.
The daughter card is populated with a 7-inch ribbon cable that attaches to the 20-pin connector on the board. To attach the daughter card, first insert the standoffs into the holes in each corner of the daughter card. Press the daughter card into the standoffs until the card is secure. Then, connect the ribbon cable to the connector on the board.
You will note that with the daughter card is installed, you can access the EEPROM modules, the ribbon cable connectors on the front of the board, and the jumpers.
