About the DS3800HFXB1L1G
The GE Fish II Expander Board DS3800HFXB1L1G is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with 1 40-pin connector and 1 34-pin connector between the retention levers. The board also has 1 20-pin connector embedded on the board. The GE Fish II Expander Board DS3800HFXB1L1G also is populated with 1 amber indicator LED. The board is also populated with 2 sockets for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules and 11 jumpers.
The indicator LED on the board can be seen while the drive is operating and the board is receiving power. When the board is operating without errors or problems, the indicator LED is off and processing can continue as normal. When the LED is on, it indicates that an error has occurred. To understand the exact cause of the error, diagnostics are available on the drive. The diagnostics might be time consuming to run. This can add to the length of time the drive is down and not operating.
When the amber LED is on, the first step is to disconnect the drive from all power. This includes all dc and ac power sources. Use a full feature testing device to test for the absence of current in the drive. Remove the board partially from the board rack and wait 30 seconds. Then, return the board to the board rack. This give the control signal an opportunity to restart and return to the proper signal sequence.
