About the DS3800HFXC
The DS3800HFXC is a communication interface board for a General Electric Mark IV Speedtronic system. The Mark IV was one of the most popular of GE’s turbine control systems for industrial gas and steam turbines. It was the first to offer triple modular redundant control and built upon the company’s success with the Mark I and Mark II systems.
The DS3800HFXC is designed with a number of different board components. This includes multiple integrated circuits as well as eight resistor network arrays. The board also has traditional resistors, capacitors, and diodes.
Other board components include a switch component located along one board edge, jumper switches, and transistors. The board has a large connector along one board edge, a vertical pin connector located near the center of the board, and two additional connectors located along the leading board edge. This edge is also fitted with two extractor clips to help with inserting and extracting the board from its place within a rack system.
The DS3800HFXC has four standoffs mounted to its surface to allow for the addition of an optional daughterboard. This board will communicate with the HFXC board using a cable plugged into the vertical pin connector located nearby.
The DS3800HFXC is marked with the GE logo, its board ID, and additional codes. It has been factory drilled at each corner. Most components have reference designations and may also carry original manufacturer part numbers.
