About the DS3800HFXE
DS3800HFXE GE Slave Circuit Board
The DS3800HFXE is a Slave Circuit Board fabricated by GE to be used within their Mark IV TMR (triple modular redundant) Speedtronic system designed for the control of gas and steam turbine systems.
The DS3800HFXE is fitted with a female backplane connector along its left edge. This is marked 218A 4553-1 AMP 533002-1. There is also a vertical pin cable connector placed near the center of the board; this is designed to interact with an optional auxiliary board that installs above the four standoffs located on the board’s surface.
Other board components include a trim potentiometer placed on the top board edge and another mounted near the board’s center, a toggle switch on the right edge, ten TP test points on the right edge, two amber LEDs, a red LED, and two red LED banks. The board also has four jumper switches, three resistor network arrays, and twenty-three integrated circuits. Capacitors use a wide variety of materials including polyester vinyl and ceramic. Resistors are both carbon composite and metal film.
The DS3800HFXE is marked for alignment along its top edge. Codes are imprinted along its bottom, including C-ESS, 6BA02, and others. Both right corners have extractor clips; these help technicians with both extraction and insertion by giving them a point to handle the board from, thus protecting more delicate circuitry, and by providing a pivot point to pull the board from its position with the rack system. More information can be found through GE manuals and user guides.
