About the DS3800HIMB1B1B
General Electric manufactured the DS3800HIMB1B1B as part of their Speedtronic (Mark IV) system. This system is designed for steam and gas turbine control, and can be used to monitor the turbine's control and auxiliary functions, can protect against adverse or unsafe operating conditions, and can be used for shut down, startup, and cool down procedures. The Mark IV has been designed for increased reliability by utilizing 'controlled failure' technology: instead of believing the electronics would never fail, the Mark IV engineers instead built in back-ups within the chipsets to take over when one board failed, to allow the user time to repair a down board without the entire system failing.
The DS3800HIMB1B1B has the following specs:
-
Factory-drilled, 2 corners
-
Two markings along the edge of the board: 6BA01, 6DA00
-
Bicron capacitor 218A4819
-
A single amber LED, positioned along one long edge
-
Female A-md connector, positioned on one long edge
-
Three transistors. One larger transistor from Motorola is TTL and DTL compatible.
-
Yellow capacitor 8623D 200V
-
Built with small diodes which may or may not be marked as such. Resistors tend to be of the metal film ceramic-covered variety.
We recommend following the manufacturer's guidelines when installing the DS3800HIMB1B1B and other Mark IV equipment. These guidelines can be found in manuals and data sheets from General Electric, within the original technical support publications.
