About the DS3800HIOD1H1H
The GE Digital I/O Board DS3800HIOD1H1H is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Digital I/O Board DS3800HIOD1H1H also is populated with 2 10-pin connectors and 1 40-pin connector located between the retention levers making them accessible from the front of the board. It also is populated with 6 jumpers.
The GE Digital I/O Board DS3800HIOD1H1H can potentially have 3 ribbon cables connected to it when it is installed in the drive. The connectors have retention clips to make sure the cable doesn’t accidently come loose. Move the retention clips out of the way when you install the ribbon cables. Then, once the ribbon cables are installed, swing the retention clips over the ribbon cables and lock them over the ribbon cables.
The ribbon cables can block air from entering the interior of the drive. This can cause the heat to build up inside the drive. If the temperature rises above a predetermined threshold, an over temperature condition will occur and the drive will automatically shut down.
Keep the ribbon cables from blocking the air vents at the top and bottom of the drive. The cool air enters the bottom of the drive and the heated air leaves the drive from the air vents at the top. Inside the drive the air removes heat from the components. Route the cables along the side of the drive and route the cables to exit through the top of the drive.
