About the DS3800HLCB1C1B
The GE LCI Contact Interface Board DS3800HIOD1C1B is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE LCI Contact Interface Board DS3800HIOD1C1B also is populated with a reset button located between the retention levers making it accessible from the front of the board. It also is populated with 8 trimmer resistor components and erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules.
The trimmer resistors provide a means to configure the operation of the board to meet the specific requirements of the drive. When you install the original board from the factory, the trimmer resistors are set to a default adjustment. This means the resistors provide a standard level of signal processing. If you find that further adjustments are needed, the board can be removed from the drive and placed on a static protective surface. This might be a protective mat or a flattened static protective bag.
Use a small screwdriver to make the adjustment and use a testing device to measure the results. When complete, liquids are available to drop on the screw. The liquid hardens and prevents the screw from being accidently turned. The liquid can be peeled off the trimmer resistor and further adjustment can be made. Install the board back into the board rack and return power to the drive.
The trimmer resistors are called trimpots. The trimmer resistors are potentiometers due to the fact that the screws enable adjustment.
