About the DS3800HLNC
The GE Network Control Board DS3800HLNC is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with 1 40-pin connector between the retention levers. The GE Network Control Board DS3800HLNC also is populated with a microprocessor and 1 amber indicator LED. The board is also populated with 8 sockets for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules and 21 jumpers.
The indicator LED on the GE Network Control Board DS3800HLNC is situated so that the operator can view the LED while normal processing is taking place. When the amber LED is off, it indicates that the board is processing as designed on that no intervention by the operator is required. If the LED is on, it indicates that a fault has occurred on the board and that power is present in the board. A first troubleshooting step is to suspect that the control signals have gotten out of sequence which makes them unreadable by the board. If that happens it is an easy step to attempt to restore the control signals and regain processing activity.
First you must remove all power from the drive. The drive receives power from several sources. Some of the current is ac current which is shut off from a circuit breaker. Some of the power is dc current which is supplied by a rectifier. The rectifier can be shut off by removing the fuse.
