About the DS3800HLND
The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HLND is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HLND also is populated with 3 red indicator LEDs which are visible from the front of the board. The board also features 8 jumpers and 1 erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) module.
The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HLND also is populated with 1 40-pin connector and 1 20-pin connector. The connectors are accessible from the front of the board between the retention levers. The EPROM modules store the code that the board uses for processing instructions. It is comprised of firmware and instruction code. Updated code can be stored on the modules after it is downloaded. However, the code that comes with the board from the factory is usually not updated and is used for processing.
The modules are removable from the board because they are plugged into sockets. The sockets are embedded on the board. To remove a module from the socket, locate the space between the module and the socket on the ends of the module. Insert a screwdriver between the socket and the module. Lift up on the screwdriver to release the module. Perform the same action on the other side of the module. Have a static-protective bag ready and immediately place the module in the bag and store it away for future use. The modules can be damaged by exposure to a build up of static electricity.
