About the DS3800HLXB
The DS3800HLXB is a Link Master transfer/receiving board from General Electric. This board is designed to work within the Mark IV Speedtronic system. The Mark IV was one of the most widely used turbine control systems ever released by General Electric for the control of gas and steam industrial turbine systems.
The DS3800HLXB is a rectangular shaped board that weighs approximately one pound before it is boxed and made ready for shipment. This packing procedure will add significant additional weight to the final product. The board itself is a simple board with factory-drilled holes in each corner. Two of these have been fitted with extractor clips to help pull the board from its location within a rack system. These clips can also facilitate an easier board insertion by giving technicians a safe point to hold the board. This leading edge is also populated by two switch components, multiple tp test points, four potentiometers, and a single LED indicator. The opposite board edge is taken up by a single backplane connector.
The rest of the board is populated with multiple integrated circuits, along with resistors, capacitors, diodes, and several jumper switches. The board also has two board stiffeners installed along its long dimension to decrease flex within its surface.
More information about the DS3800HLXB can be found through original documents from GE like data sheets, user guides, and manuals. While these would have been provided by General Electric with your original purchase, we understand if such paperwork has been misplaced or lost in the time since.
