About the DS3800HMAC
The DS3800HMAC, from General Electric, is a media access unit. This board is used within the Mark IV system.
The DS3800HMAC is a small rectangular circuit board that weighs approximately 0.98 pounds before the addition of shipping materials. This board is factory drilled in each corner to allow for mounting options. The board is marked on each board edge to help align the board properly once it is installed.
As a media access unit, the DS3800HMAC is used to determine how data transmits between other devices. The unit has stab-on connectors and other right-angled pin connectors along its rear edge. The opposite board edge is populated by a very large horizontal component with four mounted dials. These have been hardwired into the surface of the board directly behind the mounting area.
Other board components on the DS3800HMAC include lines of resistors, a line of four transistors, scattered LED indicators, and several jumper switches. The LED indicators on this board are all red. Capacitors and diodes are located at various locations on the board’s surface close to the integrated circuits that are also located across the surface of the board. Most integrated circuits are marked with their original manufacturer data.
