About the DS3800HMCA
The DS3800HMCA is a dual communication control board used within the Mark IV Speedtronic system. The Mark IV is one of the most popular turbine control systems ever offered by General Electric. It was the first of the Speedtronic systems to offer triple modular redundant control.
The DS3800HMCA is a rectangular board component that weighs approximately 1.40 pounds before the addition of any kind of shipping or packing material. This board is designed to facilitate communication and independent communication between modules and external devices.
The DS3800HMCA is a long, narrow board that has been stiffened by the addition of two board stiffeners running along the long dimension of the board. The board has been factory drilled in each corner. Two of these holes are taken up by extractor clips., These clips allow the board to be pulled from its location within a rack system more easily by giving technicians a point of leverage. It also helps with insertion by giving technicians a safe place to hold the circuit board.
The DS3800HMCA is populated by integrated circuits along with resistors, capacitors, and diodes. The board also has resistor network arrays, two jumper switches, spare pth, and a large transistor mounted within a heat sink. The rear edge of the board is populated by two backplane connectors.
The DS3800HMCA is marked by the GE logo and additional codes to provide the user with a deeper understanding of each particular board and its origin. More information can be sourced through General Electric data sheets and manuals. If you no longer have access to these products, AX Control can help.
