Product Description
The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG also is populated with 2 red indicator LEDs and 1 amber LED which are visible from the front of the board. The board also is populated with a microprocessor, erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules, and a 34-pin connector.
The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG is populated with 4 standoffs that enable a daughter card to be attached. A daughter card provides additional functionality to the board. The daughter card snaps onto the standoffs and a connector attaches the daughter card to the board.
The microprocessor embedded on the board provides the logic used to control the board operations. The microprocessor generates heat during operation so keeping the drive from overheating requires some consideration. Cool air must be available to the drive for cooling. This is a challenge because often the drive is located in a room with other drives and other powerful equipment. When you inspect the space notice if the wall on which the drive will be installed in hot to the touch. If it is hot, the cause might be that the space on the other side of the wall is hot or equipment installed on the wall is generating heat. To cool the wall, you can reduce the number of drives installed in the room. You can also select a wall that is cooler to the touch for installation of the drive.
