About the DS3800HMPG1C1C
The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG1C1C is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG1C1C also is populated with 2 red indicator LEDs and 1 amber LED which are visible from the front of the board. The board also is populated with a microprocessor, erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules, and a 34-pin connector.
The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG1C1C uses the EPROM modules to store the programming instructions and firmware used by the microprocessor. You will notice that the replacement board comes with empty module sockets. This is because best practice is to remove the modules from the old board and install them on the replacement board. Because microprocessor must behave the same as the original microprocessor, it is always best to use the same programming code and firmware. In this way, the board will behave the same. This enables the drive to resume activities and mimic the drive performance experienced when the original board was installed.
The operator can monitor the operation of the board by viewing the indicator LEDs. When the drive receives power and begins operation, the LED on the board all light for a few seconds. This enables a servicer to confirm that the LEDs are operational. If the startup sequence of diagnostic tests are completed successfully, the amber LED is lit and remains lit while the drive is in operation. It also indicates that the board is receiving power. If the amber LED is not lit, it indicates that the board is not receiving power.
