About the DS3800HMPG1D1D
The GE CPU Board DS3800HMPG1D1D is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE CPU Board DS3800HMPG1D1D also is populated with 2 red indicator LEDs and 1 amber LED which are visible from the front of the board. The board also is populated with a microprocessor, erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules, and a 34-pin connector.
The GE CPU Board DS3800HMPG1D1D also is populated with 2 50-pin connectors on the board. Because the board can have a maximum of 3 ribbon cables, the routing of the cables is important. Improper cable routing can cause the flow of air through the drive to be inadequate. This can lead to the drive overheating. An overheat trip condition can shutdown the drive to protect the drive from damage. To resolve the overheat condition before it becomes a problem, route the cable along the inside wall of the drive and keep the cables from blocking the bottom and top air vents. The bottom air vents draw cool air into the drive. The air travels through the drive and exhausts the hot air through the top air vents. Do not allow the ribbon cables to block the air vents.
Also, if any power cables are routed inside the drive, separate them from the signal cables. The power cables can emit interference that degrades the signals. It is best to route the power cables out of the drive through the ports on the side of the drive.
