About the DS3800HPBD
The DS3800HPBD is part of General Electric’s Mark IV Speedtronic line. The MKIV was the first of General Electric's Speedtronic systems to be designed with three identical control systems working independently of each other in a triple modular redundant system. This type of system significantly reduces downtime.
The DS3800HPBD is built with a number of diodes, including fifty teal, three large silver, and one light blue diode. Additionally, there are about forty-five resistors on the circuit board. Each resistor varies in size and color and has a varied number of different colored bands. The bands tell how many Ohms each resistor is equipped to handle.
The DS3800HPBD circuit board also has a large female connection port along the left edge of the board, with two grey clips on the opposite side. There are twelve EEPROM chips on this board, along with an additional twenty EPROM chips. If additional programming space is required, the DS3800HPBD has a section where an additional EPROM or EEPROM can be installed. The section is labeled "SPARE" and has the necessary connection points around it.
The DS3800HPBD has two red LEDs. There is also a small toggle switch in the corner of the board. The DS3800HPBD also has nine jumper switches. Jumpers have three small covers that can be moved to allow for the energy flow to be changed. The DS3800HPBD also features some blue wires connecting different terminals on the board.
The DS3800HPBD board is marked with the GE logo and with several codes that should help with installation and wiring. For additional information, please refer back to original General Electric data sheets, manuals, and product guides.
