About the DS3800HPLA
The GE Panel Interface Board DS3800HPLA is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features 1 hole in each corner. The board can be secured with screws. The board is populated with 1 40-pin connector embedded on the board. The GE Panel Interface Board DS3800HPLA daughter card also is populated with 3 red indicator LEDs. The board is also populated with 2 sockets for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules, 7 jumpers, and 2 trimmer resistors.
The forty-pin connector on the GE Panel Interface Board DS3800HPLA is dedicated to connecting the daughter card. The daughter card provides extra functionality to the board and it also provides features not available on the board. The daughter card has a 7-inch ribbon cable attached to it. 1 end is permanently attached to the daughter card. The other end is a 40-pin connector. You attach the connector to the board. Be careful that you do not put stress on the ribbon cable. That is, do not tug the connector free by holding the daughter card and pulling the ribbon cable out of the connector. Instead, use 1 hand to hold the connector and gently remove it from the connector on the board.
The daughter card also is populated with jumpers. The jumpers each is assigned an ID. The ID is prefixed with J. The prefix is followed by a number. Some of the IDs for the jumpers are J1, J2, and J3. Refer to the installation instructions for details about the definitions of the jumpers. Use the jumpers to configure the board.
