About the DS3800HRPB
The DS3800HRPB is a large intricate circuit board from General Electric for their Speedtronic Mark IV Turbine series. The DS3800HRPB has twenty-four integrated circuits. The integrated circuits are the devices that hold the programming for the circuit board to function. The integrated circuits are split into two separate groups called EPROM and EEPROM. They both hold the programming data, but the EPROM can be updated where the EEPROM can’t. There is a small space labeled “SPARE” where an additional integrated circuit can be added. The DS3800HRPB has eight small silver transistors and one large silver transistor. The transistors alter and amplify electrical signals and electrical power. The DS3800HRPB has eight red toggle switches that run along the length of the circuit board along with a black divider. The DS3800HRPB has ninety small pink resistors and two large pink resistors. The resistors restrict energy flow around the circuit board. The amount of energy that can be withheld by each resistor is marked on the outside with the different colored rings. The DS3800HRPB has forty-six small mustard yellow diodes, sixteen small teal diodes, sixteen medium silver diodes, sixteen medium black diodes, two medium metallic blue diodes, and one large silver diode. Each diode directs energy to flow in a single direction. The DS3800HRPB has eight other diodes known as LEDs (light emitting diodes). The LEDs will illuminate as a current passes through them. The DS3800HRPB has two thin yellow capacitors and one circular orange capacitor. These capacitors hold additional energy in an electrical field that they create for the circuit board to use later.
