About the DS3800HSAA
The GE Dom Plus Servo Amp Board DS3800HSAA features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with a heat sink surrounding a component. The analog/digital converter is a component embedded on the board. The GE Dom Plus Servo Amp Board DS3800HSAA is also populated with 1 34-pin connector and 1 socket for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules. The board is also populated with 3 trimmer resistors.
The GE Dom Plus Servo Amp Board DS3800HSAA is also populated with multiple capacitors. Care must be taken if you remove the board from the drive. To remove the board, all power must be removed from the drive. Some sources of power are ac current and other sources are dc current. Multiple sources supply voltage to the drive and they all must be removed. Before you touch any components in the drive use a full featured testing device to ensure that all power is removed. The drive contains high-voltage current and an injury can occur to the technician or others from electric shock.
When all power is removed, the capacitors can still retain voltage. This is by design because the capacitors store power during normal operations and release it when needed. When you turn off the power, the capacitor might have stored voltage. However, you can wait 30 seconds after power is removed and the voltage in the capacitors will dissipate. During normal processing, the capacitors do not pose a risk to the operator or other individuals nearby.
