The analog/digital converter is a component embedded on the board. Depending on the other boards in the drive and the application assigned to the drive, the trimmer resistor can be tailored to the task. The adjustment is made by turning a screw on the trimmer resistor with a small screwdriver. Once the adjustment is complete, a hardening agent can be dropped on the resistor that prevents the screw from being turned accidently. The agent can be peeled off if need be.

This might be helpful if the board is installed a new drive with different requirements for the resistor. However, only a qualified technician should make the adjustment. This is to prevent damage to the board. If a poor adjustment is made, the drive will not function at peak performance.
