The GE Dom Plus Servo Amp Board DS3800HSAA1U1M features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with a heat sink. The analog/digital converter is a component embedded on the board. The GE Dom Plus Servo Amp Board DS3800HSAA1U1M is also populated with 1 34-pin connector and 1 socket for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules. The board is also populated with 3 trimmer resistors.

If you must attach a ribbon cable to the 34-pin connector, it is important to follow some considerations to keep the drive operating properly. The ribbon cable must be routed properly to allow  cool air to enter the drive through the air vents at the bottom. The air removes the heat through the air vents at the top. If the ribbon cable is routed so that it blocks the air from removing the heat, the drive can overheat. This can cause processing errors and for the drive to shutdown automatically. The automatic shutdown is a trip condition. If the interior temperature reaches above a predetermined level, the drive will cease operations.

Another consideration of the ribbon cable is that you must leave slack in the ribbon cable. If the cable is tight, it can damage the cable and cause the wires in the cable to disconnect from the connector that terminates it. Use the retention latches to secure the cable. When the cable is installed, swing the latches over the cable connector. This keeps the cable from accidently slipping out of the connector.
