The GE Universal Memory Board DS3800HUMA is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Universal Memory Board DS3800HUMA also is populated with 1 reset toggle switch and 1 red indicator LED. The board is also populated with multiple erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules and 10 jumpers.

The reset toggle switch on the GE Universal Memory Board DS3800HUMA is useful if the board is experiencing intermittent problems. It is possible for the control signals to become out of sequence or unreadable by the board. A qualified technician might be able to quickly resolve the problem by moving the toggle switch. Only a qualified individual can be perform the action because using the toggle switch requires the technician to work inside the drive while the drive is powered on. This can cause electric shock or electrical burns.

The toggle switch temporarily suspends processing without removing power to the board. After a restart, processing resumes which gives the signals an opportunity to restart in the proper sequence.
