About the DS3800HUMA1A1B
The GE Universal Memory Board DS3800HUMA1A1B is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Universal Memory Board DS3800HUMA1A1B also is populated with 1 reset toggle switch and 1 red indicator LED. The board is also populated with multiple erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules and 10 jumpers.
The GE Universal Memory Board DS3800HUMA1A1B is populated with multiple EPROM module sockets. The sockets are designed to hold the modules that contain the instructions that control the processing performed by the drive. The module sockets are divided into 4 logical divisions. The logical divisions are call Quads. The Quads are Quad A, Quad B, Quad C, and Quad D. Along with modules sockets, the Quads also contain jumpers. Quad A and Quad C each contain 4 jumpers.
When you replace the board, you must move the modules from the defective board to the replacement board. Move the modules 1 at a time to the same socket on the new board.
To send and receive signals, the board relies on the module connectors. When you insert the board in the rack, the modular connector at the bottom of the board interfaces with the modular connector on the rack. Use your thumbs to press the connectors together to make the signal connections. Once the modular connectors are pressed together to enable electrical power connections and signal connections, close the retention levers to secure the board.
