About the DS3800HUMB1B1A
The GE Universal Memory Board DS3800HUMB1B1A is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Universal Memory Board DS3800HUMB1B1A also is populated with 1 toggle switch and 1 red indicator LED. The board is also populated with multiple erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules and 30 jumpers.
When the red indicator LED is on, it indicates that the board is in the process of writing to the EEPROM modules. This means processing has temporarily been suspended while the operation proceeds. Once complete, the normal operation will restart. The EEPROM modules can be written to while they are installed on the board. The technician moves the toggle switch to the proper position to start the write process. The technician will move the toggle switch back to restart normal processing. The red indicator LED is off when normal processing resumes.
If you find that processing errors occur it might be that the firmware embedded on the modules has an error that should be fixed. If a later version of the firmware is available, it might have a fix applied to resolve the issue.
When the replacement board is shipped to you, you will find that the module sockets are empty. This is helpful because you can move the modules from the defective board to the replacement board. Doing so enables you to use the same firmware and programming code that successfully controlled processing on the defective board.
