About the DS3800HXPD1D1E
The GE Microprocessor Expander Board DS3800HXPD1D1E is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Microprocessor Expander Board DS3800HXPD1D1E also is populated with 2 34-pin connectors between the retention levers. The board is also populated with 8 sockets for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules and 18 jumpers.
The retention levers on the front of the GE Microprocessor Expander Board DS3800HXPD1D1E secure the board in the rack. The retention levers have a cam action that presses the board into the modular connector at the bottom of the board rack. The modular connector mates with a modulate connector attached to the board. The cam action presses the connectors together and ensure a tight and reliable connection. The modular connection carries control signals and the current to power the board. Some of the control signals are transmitted from the board after being processed. Other control signals are received by the board. They are received for processing.
The 2 34-pin connectors also receive and transmit signals. The connectors are fitted with retention clips. They slide over the connector and firmly hold the ribbon cable in position. Before you remove the ribbon cable, you must swing open the retention clips. Be sure the ribbon cable is routed carefully in the drive interior. Don’t let the ribbon cables block the air vents or let the ribbon cables block air from flowing over the components.
