The GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1D1D is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1D1D also is populated with 2 40-pin connectors between the retention levers. The board is also populated with 1 34-pin connector on the board surface for connection to a daughter card, and 5 jumpers.

To disconnect the daughter card from the GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1D1D, you neeed to have a static free environment. Have a static protective mat to place the board on for working and wear a wrist strap.

Support the board with 1 hand and lift 1 corner of the daughter card off the standoff. The standoffs are designed to connect the daughter card to the board. The daughter card works with the board and it provides extra functionality and processing for the board. Lift the other 3 corners one at a time from the standoffs.

Before you proceed, grasp the 40-pin ribbon cable from the connector adjacent to the daughter card and carefully remove it from the connector. Do not attempt to remove the ribbon cable from the connector by tugging the ribbon cable. You must support the connector because it can easily be damaged. The fine copper wires that attach the connector to the ribbon cable can be pulled from the connector. If that happens, the signals carried from the fine wires will be unavailable to the board for processing.
