The GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1E1E is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1E1E also is populated with 2 40-pin connectors between the retention levers. The board is also populated with 1 34-pin connector on the board surface for connection to a daughter card, and 5 jumpers.

The GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1E1E supports the daughter card  by supplying power to the card. The card cannot be installed in the board rack in the interior of the drive. It can only be installed on top of the board. The board has 4 plastic standoffs for installing the card. The standoffs prevent the card from touching the board while it provides a secure hardware installation.

The current for the card is carried through the 34-pin ribbon cable that is attached to the card. The other end of the ribbon cable is a plastic connector that fits in the 34-pin connector that populates the board. The GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1E1E is designed so that the daugter card is adjacent to the 34-pin connector.

Before you install the board with the daughter card attached, you must set the jumpers. The settings for the jumpers is recorded by the installer when the original board is installed. Locate the written record of the settings and set the jumpers on the replacement board to match.
