About the DS3800HXRA1F1F
The GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1F1F is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1F1F is populated with 2 40-pin connectors between the retention levers. The board is also populated with 1 34-pin connector on the board surface for connection to a daughter card and 5 jumpers.
The retention levers on the GE Series 6 Receiver Board DS3800HXRA1F1F must be engaged when you install the board. The retention levers secure the board in the rack. They use a cam action to press the board down into the modular connector at the rear of the board rack. The board is populated with a modular connector that meets the modular connector on the drive. When the modular connectors are pressed together control signals and electrical connections are carried from the drive to the board. Also, control signals are available to be carried to other boards in the drive. The modular connection has the advantage that it eliminates the need for multiple ribbon cables in the drive. This increases air flow to remove heat from the interior of the drive. It also reduces the opportunity for electrical interference that can occur when power cables emit damaging signals.
The 2 40-pin connectors on the board each has an ID. JB and JA are the IDs and they are printed on the board adjacent to the connectors. Plug the 40-pin ribbon cables into the connectors and route the cables to avoid blocking the air vents at the bottom and top of the drive.
