About the DS3800HXTA
The DS3800HXTA is a PCB designed to function as a Series 6 transmitter within the Speedtronic (Mark IV) series. The Mark IV series, which was designed for gas/steam turbine control, continues to be a useful system despite obsolescence, due to well designed integrated chipsets with built-in redundancies that automatically redistribute the load of the system if one board experiences an issue. In this way uptime of the entire system is maximized. The Mark IV can be used for the sequencing of turbines and its auxiliaries as well as for cool down and start-up procedures.
The DS3800HXTA is manufactured with the following specs:
-
It is marked for alignment along one edge
-
It is factory-drilled for mounting options in all four corners.
-
It has two clips attached to two corners of the board
-
It has a series of spare PTH (plated through holes) for the addition of hardware.
-
It is built with five resistor network arrays. Resistor networks may be for analog to digital conversion or may be used for voltage division.
-
It has one test point labeled "DCOM." This is positioned toward the bottom right half of the board.
-
It has two red LEDs. These are marked "parity okay" and "chain okay."
-
It has one female connector and one male connector, positioned on opposite sides of the board.
-
It has 40 integrated circuits.
Technical support for the DS3800HXTA was provided by GE, including the publication of a data sheet and manual. Installation guidelines may be accessed through these resources.
