General Electric developed the DS3800NAIA1E1F to fit into their Mark IV/Speedtronic line. The Mark IV, which was designed for steam and gas turbine management, can keep the turbine system operating within safe parameters. It can also automate start-up and shutdown procedures.

The DS3800NAIA1E1F is designed with two extractor clips attached to its right edge. These nylon inserter/extractor clips allow for faster and easier extraction of the board and eliminate the need for special tools, especially during extraction from tight locations. They also protect the board, as they act as a handle for the technician, who no longer needs to grasp delicate circuitry or components.

The DS3800NAIA1E1F is factory-drilled. It is marked for alignment along its top edge and marked "6BA07" on its bottom edge. All components on the board are individually marked.
