About the DS3800NAIB1D1F
GE created the DS3800NAIB1D1F PCB as part of their Speedtronic Mark IV system. The Mark IV was designed as a gas and steam turbine management system. It can monitor the turbines and their auxiliaries, can sequence both for startup and shutdown procedures, and can keep the entire system working within safe operating parameters. Water, fuel, and air emissions can also be monitored with the Mark IV.
The DS3800NAIB1D1F is meant to function as a multi-volt buffer board, which uses frequency and dynamic voltage scaling to reduce power consumption. Its specs include:
-
factory drilling in all corners for mounting.
-
five integrated circuits placed on the board.
-
three rotary potentiometers and three trim potentiometers for voltage control and division.
-
one resistor network array. This may also be for voltage division.
-
32 200V capacitors, placed along the long dimension of the board in parallel lines.
-
31 smaller capacitors also parallel to the long dimension of the board.
-
two connectors (one male, one female) for communicating with other PCBs
-
alignment marking on one edge. Marked 6BAD5 on bottom edge.
The DS3800NAIB1D1F has two extractor clips installed on the right corners of the board. These clips allow a technician to pull or insert the PCB without touching any of the circuitry. It also helps in the removal of the board from restricted spaces.
Tech support publications such as data sheets and manuals for the DS3800NAIB1D1F were made available by GE. Installation guidelines and maintenance schedules can be found in these publications.
