About the DS3800NCCB
The DS3800NCCB is an auxiliary circuit board by General Electric. This board is a component of the Speedtronic Mark IV turbine control system.
The DS3800NCCB is covered with dozens of banded resistors in many different colors and patterns. The colors of the bands on each resistor indicate each part’s resistance capability. Many black diodes are found throughout the board. Also on the DS3800NCCB are many yellow capacitors in various sizes. The DS3800NCCB contains eighteen (18) integrated circuits. These integrated circuits all contain several very small circuit components such as diodes, resistors, and capacitors among others. Four (4) resistor networks are featured on the DS3800NCCB. Inside each resistor network is a series of resistors. The resistance of every one of these resistors added together equals the total resistance of the resistor network. On one side of the DS3800NCCB, there are four (4) light-emitting diodes, otherwise known as LEDs. These diodes light up orange when they are functioning. Lined up in the middle of the LEDs is a series of fifteen (15) test points. These test points enable the card to be tested to make sure that it is operating correctly. Situated on one edge of the DS3800NCCB is a long connector port. With this port, extra components can be connected to the board or the board can be connected with another one. In the center of the DS3800NCCB is an additional smaller connected port which can also be useful for connecting additional parts to the card. Two (2) small transistors can also be found on the DS3800NCCB.
