About the DS3800NECA
The DS3800NECA is an exciter voltage control board designed by General Electric to fit into their Mark IV(Speedtronic) line. This system, created for steam/gas turbine management, can maintain safe operating parameters and keep the system running within those parameters. It can also automate start up, shut down and cool down procedures.
The DS3800NECA has been alignment marked on its top edge and left edge (A-J, 10-80.)It is marked on its lower edge 6BA01. It has one push button switch and one toggle switch (A4627P5,) both located on the left side of the board. The DS3800NECA is built with twelve LEDs (11 red and 1 amber.) It has two transistors and one potentiometer.
The DS3800NECA has several connectors for communicating with other boards. This includes the 218A4807P3 male ribbon connector located toward the center of the board for communicating with an auxiliary board. There are four nylon pins embedded in the DS3800NECA to support the corners of this optional auxiliary if and when it is connected. there are also two headers located on the upper right of the board. This includes a 4-pin and a 6-pin header. In line and below these are two 218A4807P1 male multi-pin connectors. The right edge of the board is populated with three final connectors, including two 218A4637P2 connectors and one 218A4637P3 connector.
The DS3800NECA also has 31 TP test points located across the board. It is built with ceramic covered metal film resistors of differing values, and multiple capacitors, including three 708A1 .22 +/- 10% 200V M/e yellow capacitors, and one orange 25V 10 μf capacitor. It has twenty-five integrated circuits.
If installation guidelines are necessary for the DS3800NECA, these may be found in technical support publications (such as datasheets and manuals) distributed by GE.
