About the DS3800NEPB1C1C
The GE Power Excitation Board DS3800NEPB1C1C can only operate when connected to the GE Mark IV PC Board. The board must be connected to a motor excitation board.
The power source for the DS3800NEPB1C1C board is the motor excitation board that is also installed in the module. The power connections between the boards are in three locations. On P5, the maximum is 350mA. On P15, the maximum is 150mA. And on N15, the maximum is 120mA. This is the combined power rating for both the DS3800NEPB1C1C and the motor excitation board.
If the need arises to test the board and you suspect a problem there are two test points. You can test the armature current output and the field current output.
The drive also features diagnostic tools, if the board seems to be defective and you are unable to locate the cause of the problem. Use the control panel on the drive to start the diagnostic tool. The diagnostics are available to start from a menu you can view on the display. Use the keys to scroll through the menu items and select the diagnostics. The diagnostics provides a detailed accounting of the components. You might want to download the diagnostics report to a laptop or other device.
You can control the behavior of the drive and the power conversion module from the control panel. Keys are available for you to use to stop the drive, and command the motor to travel in reverse or forward motion.
