The GE Firing Circuit Board DS3800NFCD1J1D features 1 hole in each corner for attaching with screws the board to the drive interior. The board is populated with 4 standoffs for attaching a daughter card. The daughter card provides additional  processing, connectors, and features. The board is populated with multiple transistor-transistor logic devices. The GE Firing Circuit Board DS3800NFCD1J1D is also populated with 13 red indicator LEDs and 1 amber indicator LED. The board also has 1 socket for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules. The board is also populated with multiple jumpers and 2 34-pin connectors.

The GE Firing Circuit Board DS3800NFCD1J1D  is compatible with several different daughter cards. The cards can be installed on the board to provide added features and processing functions. The cards connect to a 28-pin connector on the GE Firing Circuit Board DS3800NFCD1J1D. The board is populated with 3 of the 28-pin connectors. Each 28-pin connector supports a different daughter card. When you select a daughter card, first plug in the standoffs into the appropriate holes on the board. Carefully lower the daughter card over the 28-pin connector and at the same time, press the card into the connector and into the standoffs. Use 2 hands to press the card in place so that the standoffs and the connector are fully connected at the same time.

If the daughter card has a 10-pin ribbon cable, connect it next. The ribbon cable ends with a 10-pin connector.  Plug the ribbon cable into the 10-pin connector adjacent to the card.
