About the DS3800NFCF1G1E
GE developed the DS3800NFCF1G1E as a turbine control firing board for the Speedtronic/Mark IV system. This system was created for steam/gas turbine control management. It can automate some routines like startup and cooldown, and can also protect the system from operating during unsafe and adverse conditions.
The DS3800NFCF1G1E is a larger PCB that has an optional auxiliary board which attaches on its left side via board-to-board pins. This auxiliary (DS3800DFCF) gives the DS3800NFCF1G1E access to ammeters and several jumper switches. There are four nylon pins attached to the motherboard in place to support each corner of the auxiliary if and when it is installed.
The DS3800NFCF1G1E is built with 8-bit static MOS RAM chips, 4-bit up/down counters, crystal oscillators, and J-K negative-edge-triggered flip-flops. It has 42 circuits in all. Flip-flops are buffered to offer maximum isolation from external disturbance.
The DS3800NFCF1G1E has two jumper switches. These jumpers can be set to different configurations and allow for a certain amount of customization of the PCB. It also had fourteen red LEDs and one amber LED, two 218A4637-P4 connectors and one 10-pin vertical male connector, twenty-one transistors, and twenty-nine test points (TPs.) All components are labeled. The board is populated with various capacitors, diodes, and resistors.
Guidelines to help with installation for the DS3800NFCF1G1E may be found in manuals and/or datasheets published by General Electric. These original technical support publications are the best reference tool for maintaining Mark IV components.
