About the DS3800NFIB
The DS3800NFIB circuit board was created for the Speedtronic Mark IV series used for turbine controls. The Mark IV was made by General Electric. Mark IV is a series of turbine automation controls for both gas and steam turbines. The Mark series have been in use since the late 1960s. The technologies used for the Mark IV had been developed since the late 1940s. The Mark IV control system was made to fulfill all the requirements of turbine controls. The system controls liquid, gas or both types of fuels according to load control and speed requirements. Mark IV also controls temperature as well as water and steam injection. Automated startup, shutdown and cooldown are regulated by the Mark IV. The Mark IV has built-in diagnostics which are used for troubleshooting. The Speedtronic system is in charge of controlling fuel, air and emissions, sequencing turbine fuel, and monitoring all turbine functions.
DS3800NFIB is a fan loss circuit card. Fan loss circuits protect a turbine system from overheating. The fan loss card opens normally closed contacts which open in the case of a power unit fan failure. The thermostat contacts in a drive stop circuit cause the drive to stop operation if there is a fan loss. This protects the power unit components from damage which could be caused by operating under load without the forced air cooling provided by a fan.
General Electric (GE) originally provided technical support as well as manuals and datasheets for the DS3800NFIB. Any necessary troubleshooting questions should be directed to General Electric.
