About the DS3800NGRA1G1A
GE manufactured the DS3800NGRA1G1A as a component for their Mark IV series. This printed control board fits in as a regulator board within the Speedtronic (Mark IV.) This series, which was originally designed for steam/gas turbine management, is also effective for monitoring air, fuel and water emissions. It can also improve the efficiency of the turbine system by automating some processes such as startup, cool down, and shut down.
The DS3800NGRA1G1A is designed around twenty-five integrated circuits. This includes three rigid envelope terminals, as well as voltage comparators, precision amplifiers, hex inverters, and analog switches. The analog switches are TTL and CMOS compatible for maximum versatility. They can be used for signal path switching, digital filters, op amp gain switching networks, and sample and hold circuits. Total dissipation of the analog switches is 750mW.
The DS3800NGRA1G1A has the ability to communicate with other cards through the use of four right-angled connectors, all marked 218A4637. All four are placed on the short edges of the board, two left and two right. Each side of the board has one P6 connector and one P4.
The DS3800NGRA1G1A has been alignment marked on two edges (letters and numbers.) It is drilled for mounting in each corner. Most resistors on the board are made of ceramic-covered metal film. Capacitors used include ceramic, polyester film, and fixed vacuum. Diodes on the board may not be marked.
GE provided all technical support for the DS3800NGRA1G1A, including any written diagnostic publications for the end user such as manuals and datasheets. These are still excellent resources for diagnostic issues.
